Wonderful pics Haji! Beautiful betta! Thanks for sharing, more please /wub.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wub.gif" />
I'm a gastromyzon nut so any pics/info you have from the wild would be fantastic! From your perspective, how are the wild fish populations holding up in Borneo? I see so many gastromyzons for sale, and it's really not a big area, I'm concerned.

The CPL is great if the area is sunny ... I use this for the clouds ie 3D effect ... it is also useful to reduce glare.Get HOYA or COKIN ... i got both but i use COKINs filters always ^.^

Thanks ... the trick with catching these type of species is to get the stones in the stream and place them into the net. This is the easiest method. We have plenty of gastromyzon here ... I try my best to update on them later.

So far its not difficult to get wild species here ... provided you know where to look ... I have stop doing this as a business but Michael Lo is still active. So is Daron Tan ... You can easily get them both thru facebook.

Dr Tan has publish a book on Gastros ... and i know Sabah is another place you could get them.IMHO details of overfishing seems to be over exaggerated ... Don't believe what you read ... Come over ... i ll take you out for a scoop /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="Laugh" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

I'll try to find one from one of these brands sometime! It's a Circulair Polarizer, correct? What does it do when it's not sunny?

Here's the link Stefan http://www.cokin.co.uk/pages/pola1.htm

For me they work best in the sun ... for shaded or indoor i dont use them. You can get the holder which you can attach them to ... But i find them a hassle to use ... I prefer to hand held instead.

That's how I usually catch them on my tanks.^ Look forward to the update when you have time.
Happy to hear they aren't threatened! I do have Dr. Tan's wonderful book!
Thanks for the offer! I'd LOVE to take you up on it! Maybe in the next few years?

I got mine here Colin, recommended by H.W. Choy. I think it was a total of about $100. with shipping. I chose the slow shipping(cheaper) and it got lost for a few months. I started a tracking process with the help of the vendor(very nice) and then it just showed up!?

This link came from Charles(thank you!). I emailed but they never responded. Nearer to you so you may give them a try?

Amazing pics! Haji is that last habitat the place where you found B. taeniata?

Cheapest place to buy Dr. Tan's book is direct from the publisher. Mine took about a fortnight to arrive. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Thanks Matt. You can get B. taeniata in most of the lower part of the place including the one in the last pic ... But the best ones are on the upper part of the waterfall. There's plenty where the water is cooler and the place is inaccessible to many /thumbs_up.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="thumbs_up.gif" />

It's a real shame that a species like taeniata, that's among the oldest in the genus, is so sporadically seen in the hobby. As a matter of fact; I don't think they currently reside in Europe alltogether. Could you tell something about its status in the wild Haji? Are they safe, or endangered, or...?
