One of my nine year old expert fishermen arrived this morning proudly bearing a "new" species. It was a Parachromis friedrichsthalii. They are native to the Lake but we have not seen any for a long time. The travelling Circus is visiting the village so he was rewarded with £1.50 which is the entrance fee for him and a friend.

Yes Matt, from off the beach below my house. We last caught some of these last Summer from the same place.

My boys brought me a couple of dozen Gambusia which had been netted in the shallows. I started to put them in a tank which had a small Freddy. They immediately started yelling "No No" but it was too late. The Freddy immediately grabbed one of the Gambusia and ate it. It is amazing what these young people know about our Lake.
The Freddy was caught and transferred to another tank, protesting loudly /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="Laugh" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
