As the title says it was a good day yesterday, first of all I finished stripping down the old river tank that housed by group of adult homaloptera confuzona, all the adult died a few months back all within weeks of each other (still don't know the cause as everything else was fine), well I now have homaloptera confuzona again, two 1" long youngsters to be precise /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" />

I then checked my tanks in the shed, the day before it sounded like the splendida were having a riot in there with the amount of clicking, anyway the heater was knocked off its suckers the filter outlet was turned round and pointing at the back of the tank and two clumps of java fern had been pulled out of the rocks, I had a good look around the tank and spotted in a crevice of one of the pipe pyramids anywhere from half a doze to a dozen pale green eggs, a couple of adults were trying to get into the massive java fern root ball in the middle of the tank but it is so packed that they couldn't get into it so hopefully there are more eggs /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" /> /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" />

I was going to try and move the eggs but I know that once I move the cobbles next to them to get a piece of airline or something in the will probably either come out with the flow or an adult will grab them, now I must make an egg trap of some description /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Wow! Good job Mark! Especially happy about the confuzona. I've recently lost 2 of my 3. For no apparent reason. Thay were both 4' so maybe it was just old age?

Thanks Jim, yeah that's pretty much what I was thinking, I don't think they are that long lived really and considering their start in shop tanks they did well to survive that experience.
