These fish came into my lfs with some live plants, apparently from a supplier called South Island in Sri Lanka. The largest is only 1cm, which means it's almost impossible for me to take a decent shot /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Not 100% sure but I would hazard a guess at Sundadanio maybe ?

Either that or some Danio/Rasbora fry that have come in as eggs ?

S. axelrodi was my first instinct when I saw them. The staff member was happy for me to take all 5 home and grow them on (for free of course /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />), so we shall see. They won't touch the powdered red astax crumb, they just spit it out but, they will take finely crushed Ocean Nutrition Brine Shrimp Flake. They are too small to take the live grindalworm, though they do try /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I forgot to say in my original post that I mentioned these fish to Matt via PM a few days ago (before I had pics), and Matt suggested the possibility of them being
Rasboroides vaterifloris
.

I suppose I'll just have to wait and see /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Looking at adult D. pathirana the fin anal and dorsal fin locations seem to fit with those on the fry.

Just wanted to update this thread /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Turns out they are spotted D. rerio, thankfully not long-finned ones /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> The largest is now just over 2cm's with a nice plump belly. They'll be going back to the lfs just as soon as they get some other D. rerio in stock.

Ahhh its a shame they weren't Pathirani : /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> I know that Leopard 's were engineered fish , but they were quite nice , and very enigmatic in their origins for such a long time !
