Looks like a Jewel Cichlid to me /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Hemichromis bimaculatus /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />

Yeah definitely Hemichromis, I do remember a green form of Jewel Cichlid labelled as Hemichromis lifalili that looked very similar to that.

H. lifalili should always have a red body colouration though I think. Methinks this might be the undescribed H. sp. 'neon' which may or may not be a hybrid. Ross can you try to get a side profile shot of the fish?

Apparently we were both wrong Mark mate and it's H. sp. aff. paynei. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="Laugh" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> "Easily distinguished from other jewel cichlids by its olive green colouration".

Long time no see Ross /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

That fish is a little beauty actually. Any information on them Matt? Are they as aggressive as the other Hemichromis species?

I don't think Hemichromis are any more aggressive than other similarly-sized cichlids tbh mate.

H. paynei is a weird one because according to the Lamboj book it has probably never been exported so I'm not sure how these came to be labelled as aff. paynei. Not a lot of info about on either of them. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
