Thought I'd share this hatchling pic with everyone plus a baby a few months on.

They can be found as Baihininho 2 and are again a cooler water species coming from the East coastal region of Brazil. Beautiful fish!

Early to late 60's but it can go up to late 70's early 80's at times of high outside temp. They spawned last night at 68f.

Having seen those in the flesh I can say they are a stunning species. If it ever gets described it should turn out to be a Scleromystax right Paul? The finnage on the dominant male in the tank is something else....

my tank is about 73F and I think they'd look much better in there than your tank /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />

I would be VERY tempted but the £50-£60 fuel bill for the trip puts me off /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

It's probably a 400 mile round trip from Newcastle to (I suspect) Wigan.

Mature, sensible signature required for responsible position. Good prospects for the right candidate. Apply within.

Eyrie, it's bolton not wigan mate, but saying that these fish are a one off, they came into BAS once and they are different to the usual 113's we've seen i was lucky enough to see the first young out of the adults.
you won't be dissapointed with them bud.

They are undoubtedly related to Sceleromystax, but as I have found it may take years for taxonomy to be detailed.

As Mick le fish has said they are different to the ones that are being bred in Yorkshire at the moment. Only taxonomy can definitively separate them.

Been looking on planet catfish and i love them even more if it's the same fish
PC

Do you have more info on them, as in full size, tank height (important when choosing cory's), how much are they and do you deliver?
A friend of mine might be interested aswell as he's after Barbatus but i'm sure he'd love these.
I don't like the idea of posting fish but if you have the right facilities to do so then I might be able to help you offload some /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
Feel free to PM me if you wish /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Cheers Mick /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Made a guess based on pabilto's location, and got it badly wrong!

Never been to BAS - Bolton would cost me a fortune in petrol and it's not an area I'm ever in.

£50 of petrol to go from Newcastle to Bolton, to Wigan, to Preston then back to Newcastle. Probably more like £30 straight to Bolton and back. That's at 36mpg average.

Maybe Richy's Ferrari isn't that fuel efficient though? /unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
