My tap water is coming out at 7.5 atm, pH in the maculatus tank is currently around 6.
There were fewer eggs this morning, and I'm not entirely convinced they'll hatch, but she's guarding them dilligently. I haven't removed the male from the tank, but the lights are off and my room is nearly pitch black - every time I've been in to have a look, she's simply been guarding the eggs and leaving the male alone, so I'll keep him there for the time being.
Although I have a spare tank, I don't have a spare heater or filter and don't particularly wish to take water from the maculatus tank as that would mean adding fresh water to fill it up, which would alter the pH rather drastically methinks.
I'm keeping details in a blog in our IC Matt /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
Ahh I got in today and there are no eggs left on the leaf and she seems to have lost her breeding colours /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
I'll try and induce another spawning shortly /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
