i have a eheim pro 3 2080 which starts to leak when it is on full power. when ran on 1/2 to 3/4 power it is perfectly fine but when turned up to full it starts to leak from where the top of the filter joins the base of the filter. ive contacted eheim but apart from an email asking where i lived havent heard anything from them for a month - even though i have sent follow up emails to them - very dissapointed with the service to be honest - but has anyone got any ideas why this may be happening. there doesnt seem to be any parts missing and the filter is as quiet as it should be, filled with eheim media which is new and clean (flow indicator is showing filter flow to be good) only thing i have done differently is to put some crushed shell in a media bag in the filter to buffer the water but i wouldnt have thought this would have been a problem - i had one when they first came out a few years ago and this one seems exactly like that one apart from the fact i didnt have any problems with that one. only other thing ive noticed is that when i take the lid off there seems to be quite a bit of water in the top where the motor is. any ideas? cheers neill

Hi i have exactly the same filter and never had any probs{yet!}my guess is that the seal ring round the top is either got some kind of grit on or is slightly perished? but a baffling problem all the same? After all if it was the seal ring surely it would leak the whole time?????
If i was you i would try Eheim again and try and talk to some on the phone rather than e- mailing?
Good luck /thumbs_up.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="thumbs_up.gif" />

You could try ringing John Allan Neill it says on the Eheim website they're the UK "retail partners" whatever that means. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Tel. 01284 755051. Failing that I'd try the German one; I bet they speak English.
