paracobitis is from China. If this is the fish and you have more than one, be careful, they are killers.

Killer ! I am surprised. I used to have a Paracobitis sp. he was pretty well behave.

Will certainly keep a close watch.

I'm down to one now ... did not realize the nature of the disease that took the others... but the winner seems very happy and fat, once he eliminated the competition.

Unfortunately, chances of finding more in the US are slim. :(

Agreed on the Leptobotia, first one is trickier. Am guessing the fish darken when settled?

Looks like a leucistic individual? Do you have several with this patterning?

If it is Chinese it should probably be referred to the genus Homatula as per Kottelat (2012).
