Hi guys and gals! So I was in the local department store that also carries fish in their pet section. Purchasing some plants. Ooops! while waiting my turn, I see that the feeder comets are particularly pretty and healthy, and on a springtime impulse I bought some /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

ten for one dollar! I have an 80gallon pond set up (302 liters), not in use, and also a 55 gallon (208 liters) tank. I have a spare Rena filter for that size of tank also. I am thinking of doing an indoor cold water tank (it is always between 35-78*F here). What plants do well , next to a large window, with no direct sunlight, and no top on the aquarium? Will Iris and curly bamboo grow if they are submerged a few inches? what substrate would you put in the plant pots? do water lilies need sunlight? or would they grow in the shade or flourescent tank light? (I do have a hood)

Also, do white clouds and corydoras and weather loaches all do ok in non heated water? Have any of you mixed them with goldfish?

Before you tell me that they will outgrow the tank, I will say that when they do I have a friend with a Chinese restaurant and a big Koi pond, and another friend with a big backyard pond that I can give them to, and then I can convert it to warm water and space out my growing guys. Anyhow I appreciate any advice. The little guys are in the Parrot cichlid tank, waiting for impulsive me to get their own home ready this weekend. /wub.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wub.gif" /> (hey, it's better than being fed to Oscars)
