well. i've got fry, but don't know what they are.
i had a pair of malpaluta kretsneri in a small tank for several months and never had any joy with them so gave them to a friend to try.
i cleaned the tank out, draining all the water out, took everything else out and filled it with tap water. now these are a very soft water species.
i went to freshen up the water last night and saw something move. fry!!!! several of them.
now, this is a divided tank with a solid, sealed glass divider, and the other side was also empty, and, yup, you guessed it, fry in there to.
so now i will have to wait and see what these could be.
i did put a few spawning mops in the tanks from other tanks, but most of my fish are either livebearers or mouthbrooding bettas, so it will be interesting to see what they are.
if they turn out to be malpaluta then i will be a very happy man.lol

Malpulutta eggs take 2 days to hatch... http://aquaworld.netfirms.com/.....byrinthfis...ta_kretseri.htm

so unless you gave them to your friend 2 days ago...they might be mystery fish /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

this forum must be magical, someone had a golden gourami out of the blues and now fry from tapwater /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="Laugh" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />...

they are free swimming, i guess about a week old as no egg sacs and feeding greedily on banana worm.
i guess if they are malpaluta, then they must have spawned before i gave them to my friend.
however, i have been moving mops around so they could be a few mouthbrooding betta fry that got stuck in the mops, but i do try and make sure the mops are free of any fry, and i must say this has never happened to me before.
we will just have to wait.lol
