I am thurai here. I am in Bangalore, India.

I am having a fish pond with about 50 koi and a couple of sharks. I am having problems with the fishes as there is plenty of lice on them. Also there is a layer of whitish fungus ....kind... on the body and tail...i am not clear is it white spot or rot or itch. I tried giving Waterlife-Parazin P -Fish Lice and Anchor worm medicine-chemical comp difluorobenzuron 0.4% w/w- half tablet in 50 litres of water and kept the fishes quarantined form the pond with the aerator on.

After two hours all the lice were normal and there are swiming happily except for the fishes. They looked deeply stressed and some were floating a little bit slant.

Today morning after neary 14 hours of the same tablet, the lice are still actively swimming. But one fish is dead. It had the most crowded lice infestation maybe about hundred on its body.

I have been going through the various post for fish diseases but all of them have their own target group of the type of fish etc. Also the correct application and working time of a medicine is not mentioned.

Also can anyone help me with places to buy quality medicine which works and is there any one who could visit my place or help me with ny phone no of people who can help.

Wow that sounds terrible. /unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> I've no experience with koi or a lice infestation of that scale I'm afraid but maybe someone else here will be able to offer advice. I suspect the fungus is a secondary symptom caused by stress or the lice themselves.
