hmm, i've always flock bred these, that is, kept them all together and let the fry get on with it. it's worked for a few years but lately i've noticed the fry numbers have dropped considerably. so last week i removed a female from the main tank and put her in a rearing tank and yesterday she presented me with 30+ fry. so she is now back in with the adults and the fry are munching microworm and small grindle worm.

i got some fry of one of the show lads in yorkshire after seeing his adult male on the show bench,
unfortunately the pillock had somehow allowed another species of live bearer in with them and all the fry once grown turned out to be crosses, so the went for food to the big fish.

not really matt. just seems the adults had taken a liken to them as i know i've had a few females drop over the last month, but only seen one or two fry about, and there is loads of wool mops and java moss in the tank,so i guess it's canabilism.
