Hi Any of you guys kept these babies ..
I recieved some today from a friend who field collected them (Kamphol)
We nicknamed them ferrari guppy !!
There are 3 colour phases Blue ,Red ,Yellow
Hope someone has a pic they could upload ?

Yes that is one but it is a bad photo,Sorry .

Kamphol has been breeding these to get numbers to sell.
He went to Georgetown to collect them,cant remember how long ago.
They are fantastic lookers .

This is another poor pic but it shows a few of the different male morphs of which t'internet is telling me there are 5, plus females apparently prefer the 'ferrari-version' red morph given the choice.

Paul if you want to "spread" these into southern Europe at any point I'm yer man...*drools*

Thats a good photo to show the types
The colour doesnt stand out though ..
I never had a buzz about guppies before these ...
I think red picta is nice until you compare it to these .
They are selling like hotcakes
I am sure Paul and the others will have sucess ... They had had babies in the bags they arrived in !
I even took them home for my Stepdaughter to have a go at raising them ..
Well done to Kamphol for the introduction .

Does anyone know when the male M. picta fry start to show some colour? Recently got a pair and have a bunch of fry, but I heard about a guy who got 20 fry but only females /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" />

about 6 months for males to get any colour at all in the pictas....
this ois one of the main problem in doing the red ones... and a % wont even carry the red colour through either...
