I decided to get rid of the old home made fish tank hood on the rivertank as it was holding to much heat and it was getting a bit shabby.

I shopped around and decided upon the new Arcadia classica luminaire with 2x 38w T8 tubes, it arrived yesterday and I fitted it straight away and I am more than happy with the results:

The whole light unit pivots back on its arms to give access at feeding times etc and at £139 it wasn't badly priced either /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Do you have any photos with the previous lighting setup Mark? Just for comparison.

I haven't Dunc, the pictures of the old setup were on my old external hard drive which packed up /angry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="angry.gif" />

The rivertank had a bit of a make over after it was stripped today to remove the sewellia that I am taking down to Peterborough on Friday for Emma Turner, it now looks like this:

They actually came out quite easy considering but I set out to remove all the bogwood and big cobbles before catching anything but impatience got the better of me and I thought I could manage with half the bogwood out, unfortunately a piece of bogwood that I hadn't taken out fell while I was chasing a spotted sewellia and when one swam out from behind it I thought that was the same fish but it wasn't and the biggest of the group was actually trapped under the bogwood and was dead by the time I moved it /angry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="angry.gif" />

Needless to say I am pretty annoyed with myself but cant do anything about it now /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />

Argh /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> That's really shit. I had the same thing happen to me doing a water change once - pulled out a bit of bogwood, shook it around in the water a bit then put it in to a bucket to clean. Only when I was about to throw the dirty water from the bucket out did I see my cute little plec scurrying about at the bottom. He was fine, fortunately, but could've gone bad /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Unavoidable m8, as you say, nothing you can do now. Sorry to hear it /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Aww unlucky Mark mate. /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> I squashed a hamster once and although it sounds quite funny I promise you it wasn't.
