Ooh pretty good call! The body looks too reddish for P. narayani right?

Maybe one of the Indian guys (or anybody else) can explain the difference between P. setnai and P. narayani?
To me both are very similar.

Seems this is P. narayani based on the three dark body markings. The first pic still confuses though because of the overall reddish colouration which I haven't seen before in this species. Is it a male in breeding condition?

Hi Matt , there are possibly slight differences in colour amongst populations ?

Does Setnai lack the middle markings ?

Hi Andy the description says P. setnai lacks the middle marking in life but that it shows up when preserved. The other main difference stated is that the last unbranched dorsal fin ray is bony and serrated whereas in P. narayani it's "weak" and "articulated".
