Very nice /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Why half a dozen? Are you hoping for a pair to form so you can breed them?

Mature, sensible signature required for responsible position. Good prospects for the right candidate. Apply within.

They're fairly dinky /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Biggest is around 2cm without tail.

Both of those plecs are the same one under different lighting - Hypancistrus inspector. I also picked up an L134 but he's in hiding in the big tank atm... /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

nah, it's just a clown plec, i'll give you a couple of quid for it /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />
Does look pretty much like L134 but even if it's not it's still lovely /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Yeah I'm certainly no plec expert - I just go for what look the nicest /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> The spotted one was only £10, bargain imo /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I was joking about it being a clown, I just wanted a £2 bargin from you /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="Laugh" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
So many colour and pattern variations in young peckoltia's but it does look a good match to a L134 /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
£10 for the snowball is a great, if you see it often that is. This is what's put me off getting one in the past, hide too much.
My lda31 is good, doesn't hide much /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Some more recent shots. The white patches around the belly area of the biggest JD, even more apparent on one of the smaller ones.. is this them starting to lose their vivid blue colouration or..?

Also note the one JD that's lighter than the rest. He or she doesn't appear to be the least dominant fish, either.

The green algae you see there has all grown since Thursday. I cleaned all of the gravel, rocks and all of the glass [bar the back pane as it currently has no backing paper] on Thursday.. and already it's growing back. Insane /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Dood they look superb it looks like they've grown tons. How big now? They do seem to be losing the blue like but are still cracking-looking fish. /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />

The biggest one must be four inches TL, the smallest about two and a half inches TL.

The shade of their blue changes on a fairly regular basis.. going from the light blue (though not quite as light as that one JD up there..) to a much darker blue than in any of those pictures. Seems to depend on how hard/what they're concentrating on /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="Laugh" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Honestly I love these guys, they have so much character.. they NEVER hide, always actively seeking food and zero conspecific aggression, even when feeding.

in 2 months they're like double the size...no one can't say they ain't fed well /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> and they're really gorgeous.

so they use the blue as means of communication?

Not sure if it's a form of communication "as such", more a mood/expression thing. Fascinating stuff though /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

dunc, on LOL there's a lad from South America that has the blue dempsey, it looks quite large and the blue is gorgeous.
it's housed with cory's, rtbs, clown loach, yoyo's and a few other assorted loaches.
it's pretty well behaved as well, if you want to see it mate go on LOL and go to page 6, go down to the thread by Marcos it's there mate in all it's glory.
