Satanopercoid Tankmates?

The Satanopercoids are looking rather shy in my tank after the awful losses I suffered from that bout of illness/dodgy water a couple of months back.

Any suggestions for some tankmates? Was thinking a shoal of tetras of some description. They'd need to be capable of thriving in water at 30°C, nothing that would threaten the Cichlids.

Hyphessobrycon columbianus...again. Cheap and very cheerful /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Other than that I'd be tempted to go for one of the rummy-noses I think.

Ps - The word "satanopercoid" makes me giggle for some reason.

Well given that there's a "satan" in the first name and a "daemon" in their second name, I wonder if they can have any tankmates at all /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

Have had a gander at the pics you've posted, these are stunning fish, but seriously, just how umm friendly are they?

They're big softies really /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> The dominant fish in the tank is the biggest daemon, and he chases the other cichlids around.. especially when they're being fed. Other than that though, they totally ignore everything else - they've been fine with black neons, buenos aires tetras and assorted corydoras /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Yeah, he's a big bastard that one /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" /> He's not the dominant fish but he's probably the biggest in the tank. Haven't lost any more since that last incident where I lost.. god knows how many fishes :/ They're looking happy and healthy, just a bit shy. Need some cover in the form of other fishes methinks /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

You're shipping out some of your altifrons? /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" />

I'll take them off your hands, even if they're not for the Satanopercoid tank /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Not sure how the Geophagines get on with the Satanopercoids (/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />), the only Geos I had in the tank were the small, uber-aggressive steindachneri - I presume they were ok because they can hold their own. Think the daemon might kick the shit out of other Geos.
