Mark, have you any experience of mixing Sewellia in a non-"Hillstream Loach" community, but with other fish like Barilius that enjoy current?

Constantly juggling mainly African riverine fish between 6 tanks, from 54 to 566l in size!

These lineolata are in a tank with decent flow but not rivertank flow with barbs and Botia rostrata, I personally I wouldnt think there would be any problems as long as there is decent flow and good oxygenation.

I dont know what the Barilius are like when feeding, are they big eaters like Danios? This could be an issue if not enough food is getting down to the hillies maybe.

Barilius are pretty manic feeders in my experience but I think it could work provided the tank is mature and of a decent size. You may have to target-feed the Sewellia though.

Mark are these replacements or additions?

Unfortunately replacements Matt, when we were away last year one of my powerheads on the manifold decided to blow up which made a bit of a mess, but adding to that because the 3 powerheads were wired into the same plug when the fuse blew it took the other down as well, no flow equalls no oxygenation 16 adults and 2 generations of young wiped out /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Oh heck, I bet you weren't best pleased /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> I know I’d be distraught at the loss of my 3 but 16 plus young would be terrible.

I guess you take more precautions now?
