Hi,

Someone has sent me pics of an aberrant colouration of Cobitis tania. The location is northern germany and they occurs together with normal Cobitis. I've never seen something like that nor heard about it.

J. Bohlen guesses that this could be an local colour morph of C. taenia.

Cheers,

Yes, but this could be an issue of the flash and/or the camera. Not sure.

Looks like some Misgurnus/Paramisgurnus rather than Cobitis?

Cake or death?

But neither Misgurnus nor Paramisgurnus has an eye line and the barbels are much to short. But the caudale looks a bit more Misgurnus like than Cobitis. The position of the dorsale doesn't fit to weatherloches.

I stay at Cobitis :)
