Been playing with a recently aquired lens (and the addition of extension tubes) to see just how close I can get, bear in mind the pupil (dark centre of the eye) has a diameter of ~1mm I think it's getting there!!

Still have a little bit of fine tuning to the lens setup but fingers crossed it will work well for fry pictures (my initial intention with this lens combination).

Morning Matt,

Using a DSLR but making life difficult for myself!!!

Nikon D80 and for these images a Super Takumar 55mm/f2 lens. Add on 30 to 50mm of extension tube and then an m42/nikon converter and you get these images.

Reason for going this route > my 105mm macro lens set me back over £300 about 6 years back, this combination (using second hand kit) was less than £50. It's a very nice lens and not bad given it's about 40 years old!!!
