The precede article by Ng & Kottelat is not what it claims. It „introduces a nomenclature that does not respect the prescriptions of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature“.

I'm sorry Amazonas, but what exactly is the point of your comment?

Dear Matt, dear all,
I apologize to be cryptic. Well, I will point out what I tried to say...
Kottelat is never tired to 'bashing' authors if they do not apply the rules (ICZN) correctly. Just read (as an example) the note by Kottelat in the very same issue of Zootaxa  ( http://www.mapress.com/zootaxa.....0p482f.pdf ).
In the paper ''After eighty years of misidentification, a name for the glass catfish (Teleostei: Siluridae)'' Ng & Kottelat tried to name a species but failed. The description does not fulfill the requirements of the Code. No problem at all, mistakes happen. But instead of saying sorry, Kottelat blames the code to be to restricted, and that the Code is just looking for 'magic words'. However these 'magic words' are important to prevent uncontrolled naming.
Greetings, Amazonas
