About the origin Montseny, it could be the subspecies S. s. hispanica.

@oaken yep pretty cold. Down at sea level it's already spring and very green everywhere but on the way up Montseny the temperature dropped by 12 °C and there was a clear transition zone with it still seeming like winter on top.

So air temp was less than 10 °C at an altidude of around 1200 m AMSL. Most of the trees are beech yep.

@Thomas I think it might be yes - will check.

@Jrp agreed!

Also saw Bufo bufo, Rana temporaria, thousands of Salamandra larvae and brook trout so all in all a really nice few hours.
