Hello,
Is there a way of getting small tadpoles or even water beetles at this time of year?
Thank-you.

Where do you live? You could be in any country in the World? /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

In the UK you will be hard pushed to find tadpoles now, some overwinter but most will be out of the water now... maybe some newt larvae are still in ponds?

small beetles would be no problem

what do you want them for?

cheers
Colin

Hello Colin,
I live in Northern Ireland. I was looking for them to feed them to a few lizards. I sometimes keep water beetles in a pond for my interest. I am not surprised like I can find semi-tropical inch-long tadpoles at the present when I make for growth in their habits. Only knowing suitability probably to purchase.
Thank-you,
Stephen.

Hi Stephen

not all, but many beetles are not appreciated by lizards in my experience because beetles can often give off nasty chemicals when scared - what are you feeding them too? Why not get some Blatta lateralis off ebay and breed your own? I have a colony and they are very easy to breed.

Hello Colin,
I am providing them living food to skinks mostly. It isn't easy to continue to make them happy without other nutrient-keepers.
Thank-you,
Stephen.
