I have a nice 25 gallon aquarium that is well planted and about a year-two years old. I have space for new fish now and am getting a pair of rams. I currently have rummy-nose tetras and some kuhlie loaches.
I purchased a pair of electric blue rams from my LFS and they are on hold for me until I can come to get them, but I would really prefer to get a normal German Blue male (the store would let me take a normal in place of the electric, since I mentioned I was considering it), rather than the electric blue male, he is the direct sibling of the female, which a lot of people say is not as big of a deal with fish, but I would prefer mixing up the genetics a bit if they were to spawn.
I have never bred fish (with the exception of platys, but is that ever really intentional? Hah! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> but I think it would be a very rewarding and enriching experience. I have been doing a lot of reading up on the rams and if they end up breeding, would pursue getting food small enough for the young to survive and help raise them. Does anyone think it would be an issues if I put a normal blue ram with an electric blue? I am curious to see what their offspring would look like, personally, but am interested in feedback.
Thank you for your time!
