Hello, Just joined the forum, so I thought I would introduce myself and my tanks.

My name is Adrian, I have two tanks set up at the moment. 1 is a 520 liter planted tank, stock includes,

9 Denison barbs

9 Dwarf neon Rainbows

6 Zebra loach

6 Ottos

1 Starlight bristle nosed plec

1 Gold spot goby

The tank is filtered by an all pond solutions 2000EF+

Lighting is 2.4 watts per gallon, stepped on and off for a period of 8 hour.

Water is PH 6.5 and kept around 23c

tank 2 is a 120 liter planted tank.

Filtered with an all pond solutions 1000EF+

Stocked with

5 guppies

4 Galaxy rasbora

1 peacock goby

5 ottos

Water is as above.

I have kept fish for many years in the past but have been away from the hobby for 10 years.

i am now back with a vengeance.

Any advice for adding tank mates or increasing stock in tank 1 would be appreciated.

Hi Adrian,

tanks look good if still a bit "new". :-)

What confuses me though is your mention of a "gold spot goby" in your large tank!? To the best of my knowledge, the "gold spot goby" is Gnatholepis thompsoni and that would be a caribbean marine species?

Regards

R.

P.S. Would you know what plant species you have on the extreme left (as you look at the pic) in the large tank?

If you must insist on living in a box ...... at least do your thinking outside.

Hello Rudiger, The fish I called a Gold spot goby, which is what my LFS called it, is a Stiphodon Ornatus. I found this out only last night after searching many fish sites. The plant on the far left is PLASTICUS PLANTUS, hahahaha sorry bad joke. The reason it is there is I had a problem with 3 of my Zebra loach. They continuously swam round and round the heater, and up and down the glass on that side. thinking it might be a reflection issue I put some plastic plants there. They have slowed now and dont do it all the time as they did. They where doing it so intensely, they did not move at feeding time. No other fish do it not even the rest of the Zebra loaches.

Hi Adrian and welcome to the site! Personally I'd be tempted to add more D. margaritatus to the second tank - they seem to do much better in larger groups.

The loach behaviour sounds quite normal - did you introduce them recently and are they Botia striata?

Cake or death?

Hello Matt ,Yes and yes to the loach question. I will add more D. margaritatus, when I can find some, the 4 I have where the only 4 the shop ever got. And thanks for the welcome.
