One of my Cardinal Tetras has disappeared. Could my Betta have killed it? Could the Betta eat it? If the Betta has just killed it, could my Assassin snail have eaten it?
I've had a Nitrite problem of 0.25ppm which is now under control with 1/3 water changes each day, but the Cardinals don't seem to have been affected, but if it has died because of this it still doesn't explain the vanishing act!
Cheers in advance! /thumbs_up.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="thumbs_up.gif" />
Bodies can decompose very quickly at tropical temperatures. It's also worth checking the filter to see if it's been sucked in and many fish will scavenge on a corpse.
Good to hear you're on top of the nitrIte problem. The Nitrospira sp. bacteria which reduce nitrIte to nitrAte are slow to multiply but they will get there eventually.
