In the pictures yes. They would be very young fishes which are all under a year old, except the one I'm carrying.

Just a basic in Asian Arowana Colours:

-Gold
-Red
-Green

Others:

-Yellow Tail Asian
-Splendor (Hybrid between Golds and Grade 1 Reds)

Golds would have the following grades under them:

-Red Tail Golden
-Crossbacks (A version of gold that has the coloration and lusture of scale shine extending up towards crossing the 6th level of scales...meaning a fully crossed on the whole back of the fish)

Red would have the following grades under them:

-Super Red (which has many schools of thought, however in my opinion and my choice, would be split into Blood Red and Chilli Red. Red Rims on the fishs' scales will be noted as it grows)
-Grade 2 Red ( no red pigmentation noted on the rims of scales, in this section some schools of thought would even call the Asian Yellow Tail Arowana a Grade 2. However in my opinion pure grade 2 should have a red tail and finnage)

Green would have the following grades under them:
- Normal Green (Dark olive green finnage and horse shoe markings, usually green in color noted)
- Nami Green (which in my opinion bears the difference in a snake skin pattern that the normal does not have)

Yellow Tails:

-Yellow Tailed Asian Arowanas would spot yellow finnage and no colouration on the body (save for some green horse shoe or green markings)

Splendors:

Hybrids between either RTG x Grade 1 Red = RTG Splendor

or

Hybrids between Cross back x Grade 1 Red = CrossBack or Red Splendor

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Mervyn:)

Stunning, Mervyn /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> What size tank do you keep these beasts in?

Excellent colour guide too - which are the most highly sought after in your experience?

Hi Dunc,

I'm currently housing my fishes in Length x Breath x Height measurements in feet : 5 x 2 x 2 for my individual Grade 1 Reds. Recommendations of 5 x 2.5 x 2 is good for individual G1 Reds and 4 x 2.5 x 2 for individual Golds.

Sought after really depends on budget...however though everyone wants a good Grade 1 Red or a good CrossBack Gold Arowana...it also depends on what traits one is looking for...(e.g. spoon head- slopy head with lips pointing slightly up, in some schools of thought, adds up the majestic feel of the fish as compared to the bullet head, base color: Blue, Purple, Green, Gold.... Broad body shape, Tail types-Fan or Diamond tails, long pectorals....are just some elements in the individual selection process...)

Therefore, in every aspect all Types are so far, "very sought after" its the budget issue, but I would personally highlight my fave: - Grade 1 Super Reds and Blue Base Cross Backs

Cheers,
Mervyn /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Super information Mervyn /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> Do you go and select these fish individually (from a farm?) or are they available in "standard" shops in Singapore?

Some shops in Singapore do have Good Standards...however for a wider selection, I visit the farms. Just to highlight, some farms are not accessible upon walk ins.

Regards,
Mervyn
