Thought I would kick this forum off. Looking for ideas.

I have an infamous 12g complete set up Nano cube with 2 x 24w power compact lights (14k) with the usual pump upgrades (additional MJ 1200) and a reverse lit refuge.

At the moment it is dry and just in need of a little inspiration to get it going.

I am open to suggestions especially a departure from the usual leather, Zooanthid and Mushroom mixes with the compulsory clown fish.

Get a Nemo!!

Sorry, it had to be done... *spank self*.

Have you had any further ideas since you posted this Ads? Sorry I can't be much help; totally new to Marines myself (similar post to yours incoming soon!), but I'll be reading your post avidly if you can keep us updated with what you go for.

What about a North Sea rockpool tank? You could get all the livestock free down Cullercoats /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

minor details Dunc. theres a slight problem with that plan, although i would be tempted to do it myself, its actually illegal to take stuff from the sea unless its 'for scientific research'. pretty convenient loophole in my eyes. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> hehe

he may need a chiller though, most stuff in the north sea isnt keen on temperatures above 12 degrees, especially Asterias rubens, the starfish. plenty of stuff to get in your tank if you went there, and all at low low prices!

Lol dohh. A rock pool-themed tank might still be cool though. He could do it tropical-style...

Sirkus (I think your right on the chiller)

There is a guy on the net (somewhere) who has temperate tank set up for about 18 months I think

Sounds pretty interesting (will llink when I get the time)

I want a seahorse leg to go with it LOL

Tide concept was pretty cool !
Know how you could do it (only on a small tank of that size)

Dont know how it was done on that tank though
OK now I do!

AWWWWW wow!! im so tempted now! if only i wasnt moving! its definitely a project for the future, infact thats guna get me obsessed while im trying to revise! your going to make me fail marine biology 2nd year! damn you Adam! /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

im really impressed still and its been about 5 minutes since i was typing the rest of this post! infact he could double that up so he had 2 tanks running simultaneously (uni has made my spelling so bad!) so one fills the other then it would be nice and efficient and could watch both tides happening at the same time! not sure where the skimmer would fit in though? maybe separately? im not great with marines atm but i have a feeling i will be getting to know them alot better soon!

Managed to source a chiller. It should arrive tomorrow.
Got hold of some good lighting too. So I may get a custom made tank built and put it all together.

Here's to dreaming

Good work mate. Let us know your results with the chiller. Have been considering investing in one for a couple of my tanks and it'd be interesting to get some first hand experiences.

Dragged somemore equipment together.

2 x Large eheim pumps
2 x Maxi Jet 750s
1 x Deltec razor Twin T5 24"
1 x 150 watt MH Arcadia
1 x Tunze DOC Skimmer 9002

On the look out for a secondhand tank stand and sump I think
