hi everyone /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

we have two swordtail fishes, we are not sure if that is what they are truly called. I cant find a proper info on them.
but I would guess that its a male and a female. the one that I think is a female look pregnant.
so maybe anyone can help me with their name and sex?
I will put some pic on of them

thanx /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Xiphophorus hellerii more commonly known as the "Swordtail".

The males are the ones with the extended caudal fins /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Usually true but look at the anal fin of the bottom fish in the second pic....doesn't look like a male on that shot....

I only just noticed that lower fish has an extended caudal too /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" /> Or is it just the picture?

Yeah Matt is of course correct, look at the Swordtail's anal fin (the most rear fin on the bottom side of the fish). If it is thin and pointed, the fish is a male.. if it is wider (like a wee fan /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />) then it is a female fish.
