    Dear friends

    Please click the link below. Its a video about the air breathing organ of catfish (Clarias batrachus). It is also called as dendritic organ or rosette. The 3rd and 4th pair of gills are modified into this dendritic organ. It enables this fish to survive in low oxygen waters.

    I must say I felt the same way as Rüdiger when I saw it. A fascinating fish but the video was a bit morbid.
