    hello bros,

anyone keeping the above speceis? In Malaysia, we normally called it as “ikan puyu”.
my friend got one pcs of this fish one year ago.
recently, he saw a few frys around the fish.
one question i want to ask is this fish can breed on its own without the opposite sex or it was pregnant and needed 1 year then only can deliver..

it is such a weird case!!

    Hey Spirit

Although Anabas are wonderful fish I would not think it is at all possible for a female Anabas to reproduce her kind by carrying fertilised eggs within her body.

If you go to the Ryedale Aquarist Society website at http://www.ryedaleaquaristsociety.co.uk you will find a small, but interesting, article on Anabas (Climbing Perch) in the articles section.

    Regards David
