I have these chaps for 6+ years, got to taking some photos yesterday. 3″-5″ range, rostrataish markings on one.

Hi Mike ,really nicely conditioned fish there, to my eyes the fish in pictures 1  ,4, 5 + 8 look decidedly like Kubotai ! and the ones in pics 2,6,7+9 Rostrata ,they are very close but for me Kubotai is a more robust fish and Rostrata has some bands that are clearly shown in these pics , in pic 3 there is a Kubotai on the left and a Rostrata on the right !

    Thanks guys,

yes, they are very enjoyable… this btw is the living room tank and they are active in the evenings.

photos show the same animals more than once…actually there are smaller specimens in the tank that still (after 6 years) have large white areas, I did not photo them… so only one fish is Rostrata-like (bottom photo on the left and other shots…it is the one I wanted to photo Embarassed ) I am afraid to pass the judgement myself, we really do not know what is happening in the wild, there may be intermediate forms. And of course I don’t know where the fish came from exactly.

I thought I lost them, but surprisingly imageshack still keeps copies of the old photos of these chaps…. so this is how they looked like in Sep of 07.

Same fish, I did not add any kubs to this tank since, but who is who is not possible to say anymore. Notice the pointy faces in the first two photos, this took a few months to “correct”.

This is a tank at ChatuChak Market in Bangkok a few years back. There were some absolute monsters in there that would hide every time I got ready to shoot. 6″ plus!
