I imported a shipment from India and got a species that was supposed to be badis buxar, but obviously isn’t. When I sent pictures to the supplier, I got the following response:

    QUOTE
The fish sent by us is a new species which is yet un described and available from an area totally different from the collection area for Badis tuivaiei, even though there is some resemblance in their looks.

Initially, I thought it may be a badis badis, but the black spot on the caudal peduncle and dorsal fin are not consistent and these are slightly larger. The males are about 3″, the females about 2.25″.

Any thoughts on species would be much appreciated.
