Well this makes me feel a bit better but it´s set to be reviewed in 2010.

at least it is ma bit of breathing space to allow peeps to get breeding programmes up and running.
but i’m still a bit confused as i’ve read somewhere that the ban is only for wild caught fish. anyone know more?

so peeps have no worries about many of the trichogasters as i’m sure most of what we see are mass produced.
do u have a full list or link to what is on the proposed banned list?

As far as I know it´s just the genera mentioned in the article, so “all wild caught members of the genera Puntius, Trichogaster, Labeo (not sure if they´re including the African ones), Channa, Mastacembelus, Mugil and Catla.”. Not extensive by any means but still nasty for enthusiasts of those genera, which includes me with a few of them. Definitely no worries on the mass-produced species though.
