The evening delivery included a 5 inch Catfish, which was a bit of a surprise to say the least.

Most of our Catfish are Marine but we have some Rhamdia.

It was put in the Lake fish community tank and eventually settled. Considering it’s size it manages to hide.

I can’t find a good match as many photos are poor quality. Although not showing up in the photo it has a dark stripe along its side.

Is the first pectoral spine serrated on both sides? If so, Rhamdia quelen, otherwise R. guatemalensis is a possibility.

Hard to see any detail at the moment, hard to find the fish actually. I read that guatemalensis has been classified as the same as quelen, Only quelen is listed on the Guatemala List. I was surprised that guatemalensis was not on the Guatemala list when I discovered it’s existance.
I had quelen in mind as the species but so many photos appeared to show different fish.
    Many thanks for your help.
