    Hello.

I’m from France, and I have to say I love this website. I came here to ask a question, I hope i’m in the right section.

I was looking for Celestichthys (Danio) choprae in petshops, and I see them often. I was reading about this and related species and something was wrong. All C. choprae I see are too big. Seriously Fish give a size slightly bigger than C. margaritatus and C. erythromicron (2.5-3cm), but I see fishes almost as big as 3.5-4cm… Until today.

I saw two very different fishes in the same shop under the same name. One was irridescent gold and 3.5-4cm in size, the other had a darker body with red and irridescent patches on the tail, was smaller and less heavilly build. Both had the same stripe patern but very different size and general color. I had no camera, but I will try to find photos on google matching my observations.

    The golden one:

    The darker one:

What do you think about it? Is it different species? wich one is the real C. choprae? What is the other one?

    Tanks.
