Toying with the idea of finally trying them (S.America loach equivalent…gotta try one day).

ASAIK the fish is quite easy, but does anyone know anything about breeding? Doable?

I had a group of seven up until recently, fish from Paraguay, 3″+, I took five back to the shop they came from as every time by Apisto commbrae spawned these things were acting like marine hawkfish and they were driving the adult cichlids daft. The ones I have are a male and female, I’ve seen some shenanigans but nothing definite, no sudden slimming in the females either. Might be that I should have kept the group together for the social behaviour, going to try them over moss, then over gravel if that doesn’t work. Not been able to find anything out about how they might spawn.

Hmm…. thanks….. I was hoping they are “a kind of tetra easy”… guess not.

Am guessing that not many have tried spawning this genus? Sounds like a good project!
