i am going to go out on a limb here and call it Brachydanio kerri which is a pearl danio with stripes.
they are crossing so many danios now it is hard to keep up with them. there is one in the rear right that looks a little like a leopard danio cross. nice looking fish. i will keep looking.

It’s Danio sp. TW03. These were being sold as Panther Danios last time I saw them. It’s not thought to be a crossbreed but a distinct, undescribed species. Beautiful fish Kris!

Galilee sorry to get technical but Brachydanio is now a synonym of Danio. D. kerri is usually known as the blue danio over here. Are they selling it as pearl danio in the States?

Haha I’d be knackered if you tried to test me on livebearers for sure!

Thanks for letting me know, i thought they were one of the undescribed ones since i couldnt find them anywhere online. Your right galilee, there are alot of danios and im sure one or two of them may be hybrids of aquarium stock. i was reading up on http://www.danios.info which seems pretty decent (i think) as im a bit behind on current literature but it wasnt there, they did mention that no Danio sp. except D. kerri had verticle bars on its flanks.

I think there are a few with vertical bars. The ones Kris has and D. choprai are the ones that immediately spring to mind.

I’m just adding the species to the knowledge base and remembered about this thread. It was described earlier this year by Kullander and Fang as D. aesculapii. <img src="style_emoticons//cool.gif” style=”vertical-align:middle” emoid=”B)” border=”0″ alt=”cool.gif” />
