Fueled by an interesting chat with Matt :)

Hithertho two species have been described (viz. Turcinoemacheilus kosswigi and T. himalaya) and to the best of my knowledge no undescribed species are currently known. Turcinoemacheilus kosswigi is endemic to the Tigris-Euphrates basin and T. himalaya can be found in Nepal.

What interests me is the distribution of the species of the genus, especially the gap between the two described species. It makes me wonder what can be found in between? Perhaps anyone here has some knowledge to that?

Any idea how well-sampled the Indus basin is Stefan?

I am not sure because I don’t know all publications or field research regarding that basin. I do know that it isn’t unexplored though.
