Anyone ever have these?  I have a fully cycled 55 gallon tank and would like to get a good sized barb, and have liked what I’ve read about them.  Love some real life input!

    Thanks!

    Hi Jeri,

I have most probably their closely related relatives from Sri Lanka; Dawkinsia singhala.

One thing you have to keep in mind with these beautiful barbs is that they will eat every plant in the tank when they reach adulthood.

Thanks for the information! Thankfully the only plants I have in there right now are some java plants, and some silk plants. I can’t afford to plant this one quite yet, so that won’t be a problem.  Any other information on these guys would be deeply appreciated.  My lfs has some tank raised in stock right now, and I really want to give them a shot!
