I bought the last two specimens of these fish yesterday, who have grown on me so much since bringing them home… I am now determined to get a “tribe” of Zebra Otos in the near future!

My best guess at the moment is that they are from the Hypoptopoma genus, only leaving me something like 20 known species to choose from…
Excluding the caudial fin, these two guys are ~5.5cm long, possibly even 6cm.
I would be very grateful for any “best hunches” you have and I can try and get better photos if needed. They do have the extra set of midriff fins around their waist, which I believe are the “adipose fins.”

Difficult to tell from your pic but h. inexpectatum looks close?Well that’s one of them identified, thanks for that! It has the unique hairline in the snout area!
