    hi!

I recently bought the last goby in the tank of the trader and he couldn´t tell me the species. He would try to get me more of this kind, if we can find out, which gobi it is.

As there are a lot of specialists here, I hope, someone can help me identify the fish.

My guess is Sicyopus exallisquamulus, but I´m not really sure.

I´m sorry, my camera hates me, when it comes to take pictures of fish… I´ll try to make some better ones!

    Hi Charles!

    Thanks for your reply!

Could it also be a Lentipes ikeae? How can I distinguish those two?

In Lentipes ikeae both dorsal fins have white edges, and the second dorsal also contains a black spot. Here’s a pic from its description:

    oh – thanks Matt!

here the difference is clear 😉 I tried to google them, and didn´t really come to a conclusion..

do you also agree with Sicyopus exallisquamulus?
