While picking up some bait yesterday from a large local outlet I wandered up to the aquarium dept., where I was shown a fish that apparently came in with Sewellia. Having checked, seems it’s G. pennocki or maybe an undescribed sp.

Bonny fish, red tail and nicely-patterned dorsal. Worth a look if only for comparison.

I have seen one of the other Gyrinocheilus sp. before but some time ago, can’t remember whether they were pennocki or pustulosus.

I’d love to see a photo of the fish.. always had a slight interest in this Genus.. I’m assuming very different from the usual Gyrinocheilus?

This is G. pennocki – just not got around to adding it to the database yet. :)
