Today is the day of celebration of the publication of Watson and Crick’s paper describing the structure of DNA in 1953 (year I was born). It is also the day the human genome project was declared complete in 2003.

A great day in genetics that also completed a conceptual link in the understanding of evolution (molecular basis of inheritance and mutation).

In a world of so much ignorance, I feel it is good to celebrate scientific advances and the general growth of knowledge!
