I got a load of these guys in last week, they are in superb condition and i had the pick of several bright males and really plump females. Id never spawned this species so it was rude not to try while there was a tank of fish available!!
I set them up 2 days ago and out of 4 pairs 2 started spawning this evening as the light was fading and the fishroom was getting darker. Water parameters were PH 5.5, Tds 60ppm and a temp of 77f. The eggs are adhesive and stick to the mop and grid, this makes the grid almost redundant but i knocked the sticky eggs down below the mesh on a regular basis and should have several hundred eggs to show for my efforts, these look like very prolific fish!
There are a few poor quality pics here(Not as good as id liked) and a video where you can get a better idea of how these fish spawn..
Eggs on the mop..
