    Hi all,

Ik keep 190 gallon (700L) fishtank at room temperature. In winter that is about 21 degrees and in summer this will rise to 25-27 celsius.

I’d like to keep hyphessobrycon amandae but am confused if this is suitable for the fish. Here is says 20-28 celcius is fine but almost all other sites say 24-28… and I never found 20-28 somewhere else. I found seriously fish knowledge base mostly a very reliable internet source, but does anybody know if I can trust this temperature range or how this range (for the amandae) was determined?

    Thx a lot!

Hi Jacco, our recommended temperature ranges tend to be somewhat wider than on some sites, and this excellent article will help explain why.

@jacco I have found what that article says to be completely true. In fact, it is apparently good for some species to have a “winter” period every year.

@matt is it possible for you to add a recommended temperature for discus?
