Hi everyone, i’m here again disturbing you, asking another question:

Last year a friend of mine went to Fridschafen and brought back to Italy 8 specimens (4 male, 4 females) of Betta splendens wild color/form, so not selected fish.

I took 4 specimens and breed them successfully a couple of times and now i have to manage almost 150 youngster O_o

(here is my article wrote in Italian http://www.aibetta.it/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=61&id=45624&Itemid=318 )

Now my question is….wich population they belong to?

    Maybe Minburi/Bangkok?

    Hi Marco,

unfortunately I cannot help with your questions. I just wanted to say: “Wow, absolutely beautiful fish.” 🙂

Very good to see these as I was reminded once again why I don’t do selectively bred fish but stick with the wild forms of any species I keep.

    Thanx a lot,

    R.

Oi Rudi. what about those danios? 😀

Great-looking fish and nice article Marco, but no idea which population they might be if they weren’t labelled beforehand.

Any idea how far removed from wild fish they are?

    Nice one Matt. 😀

But to my defense I can say that I did not purposely buy a “bastard”. They looked like any other species does in a dealers tank: “plain white”. 😀

Thanks Rüdiger, that’s also my opinion: never do anything with selective bred fish.

It’s simply unfair and not respectful towards animals ;)

Hi Matt, thanks also to you, unfortunately i do not know anything about them… i only know that they are not selected Betta splendens :)

I hope someone anyway will help me with my question :)

Thaks to you all, again :)

    Greetings,

    Marco
