This is a small (18″, too big to call nano I reckon) tank I set up a while ago to breed endler’s livebearers. As some of you probably know, these buggers require little encouragement and I was actually “farming” them to feed to my Channa at one point

Very nice tank there, Matt. I love how the plants take over the whole background and how the white gravel shows up against the rest of the tank

Cheers mate! I just used one standard “Sunglo” tube with tinfoil wrapped around the top half of it. There’s a thin layer of plant substrate under the gravel and that’s it. All the plants I chose were dead easy to grow though, vallis, Hygrophilia etc.

Having seen your tank with all the crypts I don’t think you have much to be jealous of, but thanks a lot!

As far as I remember he just used some planting soil under-gravel stuff.

Was a stunning tank that young Matthew, everything grew together really well.

Thanks all. Yeah there was a thin layer of planting substrate under the gravel. I think it was a JBL product…no CO2 or anything else though.
