Sorry, I’m new around here! I’m trying to undestand why those pangios are losing pigmentation

    I have a 300L tank (at 24°C, GH 10°, KH 10°, pH 7, NO2 0 and NO3 0) with live plants, inhabited by:

    – 20 Tanichthys albonubes
    – 7 Brachidanio rerio (2 longfin and 5 leopard)
    – 9 Danio margaritatus
    – 4 adult Pangios + 4 o 3 young pangios (both khulii and myersi)
    – 2 very young Ancistrus dolichopterus
    – 1 old female of Caridina multidentata

A month and a couple of weeks ago I re-arranged the tank (added and moved some plants and woods) and after a while I started repopulating it (I already had most of these fishes, I only bought the young pangios, leopards and ancistrus). 3 weeks ago I noticed that the pangios were starting to bleach and nobody (written on several forums, asked in shops…) has been able to help me find out what’s causing it! All the other fishes are healthy (I spotted a Cyprinidae fry hiding in a big Bacopa australis wall), except for the fact that some Neocaridina heteropoda died from paralysis when I tried to get them in the tank a month ago (which is another mystery, since I have never had the slightest problem in the 2 and a half years I’ve been rearing fishes and shrimps).

Anyway, if I missed some crucial info just ask me and I’ll be glad to explain everything, and thanks in advance

Are you losing any fish or just seeing a change in colour pattern? Any other symptoms, e.g., rapid respiration, lethargy, loss of body mass?
